Merit Badge Pre-registration

Merit Badge Registration
At Cherokee Scout Reservation, a computerized system is used to maintain the camp roster. This roster is important for multiple reasons, not the least of which is being able to tell where a particular Scout is in during the day in case of an emergency. It is also used to sign up your Scouts for their merit badge classes.
The Merit Badge Pre-registration form (click here) is used to pre-register Scouts. In an effort to increase the accuracy of and reduce the time it takes to compile this roster, we are offering you the option of submitting it on diskette. The sheet/disk should be mailed to the attention of the Summer Camp Program Director at the Council Service Center one week prior to your unit coming to camp. If using the paper form, please PRINT clearly, our data entry staff are notorious for their interpretation of names they can't read.
For those of you who do not have access to a computer, or do not understand the techno-speak below, just continue to turn in your paper copy as instructed above. We will give you a print out of your Troop's roster (even if you turn it in on paper) at the Sunday flag lowering ceremony and you may make changes after supper at the leader's meeting at 8:15pm in the headquarters building.
In order for our system to import your data, please follow this format:
3.5" diskette
ASCII text file ONLY
Name the file: troop#.txt (as in 1.txt for Troop 1)
The file should contain the following information, separated by commas:
Last_Name,First_Name,Troop#,Activity_Number,Activity_Number,Activity_Number
The "Activity Numbers" correspond to the numbers on the Merit Badge pre-registration form. Sample records for John Doe and Homer T. Bedlow from Troop 888 follow:
Doe,John,888,100,201,401,501,600
Bedlow,Homer T,888,900
Please note that there are no extra spaces between the commas and that the entire name is spelled out.
