Located just southwest of Yanceyville, NC, Cherokee Scout Reservation offers a secluded wilderness camping experience.  With just at 2,000 acres this private camp gives Scouts the opportunity to discover all the outdoors has to offer.  There are 14 different campsites to choose from and each campsite has its own running water and private latrine available for weekend camping year-round.
Cherokee is the home of Old North State Councils Boy Scout Summer Camp featuring such great programs such as woodcarving, swimming, astronomy, boating, mountain biking, archery trail shooting, climbing on our multi sided rappelling tower and Boy Scouts of America C.O.P.E course.

Facility Rental Fees:

Old North State Council Units & Out of Council Units: These Fees begin June 1, 2019
Campsite: $3 per person per night
Headquarters: $25 per day
Dining Hall & Kitchen: $175 per day
Kitchen only: $100 per day
Dining Hall Only: $100 per day
OA Lodge: $45 per day
Shelter: $10 per day
Canoes or Row Boats: $15/boat/weekend

Special Programs Available:

Shooting Sports: See Shooting Sports Web page for requirements and class/event details
Shotgun Merit Badge - 75 rounds & clays (practice & requirement shooting) is $35 per Scout. If additional shooting is required to obtain the shooting requirement, the charge is $10 per 25 rounds.
Open Clays Shoot: Shoot tickets may be purchased for 25, 50, 75 or 100 rounds.  The ticket cost is $6 plus $10 per 25 rounds (covers a facility use fee, provides personal eye & ear protection & the cost of ammunition & clays).  This cost may increase during the year, due to rising ammunition costs.  Only Council provided ammunition & clays may be used on the course.
Shotgun 5 Stand Shoot - Shoot ticket cost is $6 plus $10 per 25 rounds
Rifle Shooting Merit Badge- Practice & requirement shooting (100 rounds) is $11 per Scout. If additional shooting is required to obtain the shooting requirement, the charge is $1 per 20 rounds.
Rifle Fun Shoot - $6 per person + $1 per 20 shots.
Archery Trail/Fun Shoot - Program fee is $2.00 per shooter
Archery Merit Badge- The cost of these classes is $11 per Scout.

Shooting Sports Program Request/Reservation Form - Availability based on a Range Officer's availability - Form must be submitted with the Facility Use Application

Helpful Hints:
Adirondacks are located in the campsites but all sites do not have the same amount. Tents may be required

Electricity is available at Chippewa, Delaware, Sioux, Blackfoot and Cheyenne.  It is also available in all buildings.

Water is only available in the winter at the following buildings and campsites: (water is usually cut off from 2nd or 3rd weekend in November to late March)  Water is available at Headquarters, OA Lodge, Dining Hall and water spigot at  Blackfoot and Cheyenne.
