Climbing Merit Badge

Climbing merit badge will be offered twice a day. The first session will run from 9:00 to 12:00 noon. The afternoon session will begin at 2:00 and end at 5:00. Scouts must be at least 13-years-old before January 1, 2007, and have a physical exam within the last 12 months to take the merit badge. Scouts must complete physical form #34412 (Class 3). Scouts will need to wear soft-soled tennis shoes. Scouts will have the opportunity to climb on real rock at a local state park on Friday. Scouts do not have to go on the trip to complete the merit badge if the Scout completes requirements on the tower. The trip will last all day. Scouts will miss their other sessions and are responsible for making up missed activities. Lunch will be provided on the trip. Unit leaders will be asked to assist with transportation to an off-site location for the Friday climbing trip.
