Vice-Chief of Service Duties

Your duties as stated in the lodge by-laws:

Article III, Section 1, Paragraph C

  1. Be second in succession to the Lodge Chief in the absence of the Lodge Chief and the Vice Chief of Programs.
  2. Be responsible for coordinating service projects for lodge ordeals and service weekends.
  3. Be responsible for upkeep of Lodge Building.
  4. Be responsible for unit elections and camp promotions.
  5. Promote community service projects within the lodge.

Your duties before, during, and after lodge functions:

  1. Conduct training for all elangomats prior to their ordeal.
  2. Organize the ordeal weekends: assign clans for the candidates, locate suitable work projects, recruit help from arrowmen, coordinate with the cook crew for candidate meals, secure required tools for projects; locate and assign sleeping areas for clans, coordinate with VC-Indian Affairs for placement of clans during and after ceremonies
  3. Keep the lodge building clean before, during, and after events
  4. Conduct Unit Elections training for Chapter UE Teams
  5. Attend the Camp Promotions Dinner and plan the program for it in conjunction with the camp director
  6. In conjunction with the lodge chief, plan, promote, and conduct service projects within the lodge

General officer requirements: 1. Set the example by wearing the correct, complete ClassA Uniform at all events 2. Exhibit behavior that is becoming of a Scout and an officer 3.Attend all lodge functions, including the summer camp promotional dinner, all lodge ordealweekends, lodge fellowships, lodge work weekends and events, conclave, and all executivecommittee meetings 4. Submit a report for each executive committee meeting of the eventsthat are your responsibility 5. Continue to support your troop through attending regulartroop meetings and outings 6. Submit reports for the lodge newsletter, the Meechglanne 7.Complete any other task assigned by the lodge chief
