Old North State Council - Training




Every Scout deserves a Trained Leader! The Old North State Council offers many exciting training opportunities throughout the year. These programs range from on-line training to advanced leadership training. Did we mention that Training is also FUN?

New "This Is Scouting" training replaces the "New Leader Essentials".  "This Is Scouting" can be found on the BSA's on-line Learning Center and can be completed on-line!  This is a required course, along with the Leader Specific training to qualify as a TRAINED LEADER.  Click here to go to BSA's on-line Learning Center...

NEW BSA ADULT VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE JUNE 1!
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING EVERY TWO YEARS.

When submiting a new adult application, a copy of the youth protection training certificate must be attached.  New adults can go to myscouting.org, create an account, complete the training and print a certificate.  (You do not have to be a registered adult to create a myscouting account.)  After an adult application is submitted and membership is approved the new volunteer will be assigned a member id number. They must update their myscouting account with their id number.
